Part-Time Employment Opportunities

Recreational Coordinator
The possibilities are endless! Lead kids in recreational activities and programs, that are age appropriate and develop character in a safe environment. Organize High Yield Activities - Leadership (community service), Outdoor and Environmental Awareness, brain teasers and positive use of leisure time. Must be active, motivated, outgoing and enjoy working with kids.

College students welcomed, experience with children required.

Pay Rate: $11.00 - $13.00/hour (commensurate with experience)

Hours: Year Round Position, Monday-Friday, 3:00-6:30pm
Summer Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:30am-3:00pm/TBD

Requirements:
• Some College or degree in related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
• Experience working with children, in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization
• Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.

• Must be creative, resourceful and versatile
• Ability to deal effectively with members including discipline problems.
• Demonstrate ability in working with young people and parents
Creative Movements Coordinator
Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Dance & Performing Arts Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the delivery of a broad range of dance programs geared toward members ages 6-12 within the Club. Gymnastics and theater experience a plus! Coordinator will serve as a role model to promote and develop character in a safe environment. Provide a warm and inviting atmosphere for those Club members attending dance programs.

Coordinator to organize seasonal Dance Showcase/Talent Show, under the direction of Program Director.

Hours: Year Round Position
Monday-Friday, 4:00-7:00pm
Summer Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:30am-3:00pm/TBD
Pay Rate: $11.00-$13.00/hour (commensurate with experience)

Bilingual Membership Services (Part-time)
Customer Service!! Looking for a fun, vibrant individual to maintain a safe and secure front desk/lobby area at all times. Monitoring all youth members’ arrival and departure from program (afterschool/summer), while provide excellent customer service to parents and visitors. Maintain accurate and daily membership, required documents, and manage collection of membership fees through a Tracking System. Under the direction of supervisors, individual will assist in the organization of program process, registrations and promotional materials. POSITION START DATE: July 2017, with required training prior to the start of the position.

DAYS/HOURS:
Summer Hours (July – August) Monday - Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm, with potential to remain on through the school-year.
September - June shifts available, 10am-2:30pm AND 2:30pm-7pm


Pay Rate
: $13.00-$15.00/hour (commensurate with experience)

Requirements:
• Some College or Associates/Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Bilingual - Spanish speaking a must.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills needed to deal effectively with members and parents.
• Minimum one year experience in customer service and working with youth.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft applications; tracking software a plus.
• Strong working knowledge of Outlook and Technology Equipment.

Summer Youth Employment Program for Teens
Employment Dates: End of June thru Mid-August


Students must attend all workshops to be considered for employment at the Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club Summer Program. Workshops were geared towards career and job search skills which included cover letter and resume writing as well as interviewing tips.

Program Requirements include: attendance at workshops, must qualify for free/reduced lunch or on public assistance, provide original working papers, copy of birth certificate, and provide a copy of social security card.

A total of five workshops will be offered in two sessions on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:00pm. Attitude, performance during each workshop, and attendance will be essential for employment.

Students will attend an orientation at the end of June once they undergo an interview by Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club professionals and are offered group leader position.
