Recreational Coordinator
The possibilities are endless! Lead kids in recreational activities and programs, that are age appropriate and develop character in a safe environment. Organize High Yield Activities - Leadership (community service), Outdoor and Environmental Awareness, brain teasers and positive use of leisure time. Must be active, motivated, outgoing and enjoy working with kids.

College students welcomed, experience with children required.

Hours: Year Round Position, Monday-Friday, 3:00-6:30pm
Summer Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:30am-3:00pm/TBD

Pay Rate: $12.00 - $14.00/hour (commensurate with experience)

Requirements:
• Some College or degree in related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
• Experience working with children, in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization
• Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
• Established strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Must be creative, resourceful and versatile
• Ability to deal effectively with members including discipline problems.
• Demonstrate ability in working with young people and parents
Arts & Crafts Crafts Coordinator 
Responsible for overseeing arts programs and arts & craft activities within the Clubhouse, to include, but not limited to: drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, sculpture, mixed media, arts & crafts, clay-making, and/or theatrical arts. Responsible for assisting with homework program for youth ages 6-10, alongside assistant. Arts & Crafts Coordinator will be responsible for implementing annual art exhibit. Must be active, motivated, outgoing and enjoy working with youth.

Coordinator to organize annual Art Exhibit under the direction of Program Director.

Hours: Year Round Position
Monday-Friday, 3:00-6:30pm
Summer Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:30am-3:00pm/TBD
Pay Rate: $13.00-$15.00/hour (commensurate with experience)

Requirements :
• Some College/College Degree, Teaching-Arts Degree and/or portfolio preferred.
• Work experience with youth under 13 years of age required, Boys & Girls Clubs or similar a plus
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrate ability in working with young people and parents.
• Must possess necessary skills to properly instruct and guide youth.
• Must be creative and resourceful
• Must be versatile

Youth Wellness & Lifeskills Coordinator
Responsible for engaging children in an exciting but realistic way, to promote healthy behavior changes they can model for their peers and families! Coordinator to implement and facilitate prevention and life skills activities and programs geared towards youth ages 6-12; develop our young people’s capacity to engage in positive behaviors that nurture their own well-being, set personal goals and live successfully as self-sufficient adults.

Hours: Year Round Position

After School Program Assistant 
Responsible for assisting with daily Club programs and the active supervision of Club members. Programs may include but are not limited to, homework help, sports, recreation and educational activities. This individual will encourage the development of positive use of leisure time, appreciation for the environment and social and interpersonal skills. This individual will be versatile within the Clubs program areas and must demonstrate the ability to supervise youth ages 6-18 years.

Hours: Year Round Position
Monday-Friday, 3:00-6:00pm
Pay Rate: $10/hour

Requirements :
• High School Diploma, Some College/College Degree, preferred.
• Work experience with youth under 13 years of age required, Boys & Girls Clubs or similar a plus
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Must possess necessary skills to properly instruct and guide youth.

TechnologyCoordinator
Responsible for the development and facilitation of technology programs/activities in following areas; STEM curriculum, teaching basic computer skills and instruction on how to use computer technology and the internet as a resource to enhance education and learning opportunities. BGCA Digital Arts Festival Projects (photo illustration, movie making, recording studio/music making, graphic design and web design).  Technology Coordinator will demonstrate the ability to engage youth ages 6-18 years to better understand importance of using computers, technology, and the internet in completing assignments as well as implementation within the Clubs programmatic themes and project based learning activities.

Hours: Year Round Position
Monday-Friday, 3:00-6:30pm

Pay Rate: $14.00-$16.00/hour (commensurate with experience)

Requirements :
• College Degree in Computer Science, or teaching
• Knowledge of computers, technology and internet
• Work experience with youth under 13 years of age required, Boys & Girls Clubs or similar a plus
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrate ability in working with young people and parents.
• Must possess necessary skills to properly instruct and guide youth.
• Must be creative and resourceful
• Must be versatile


Summer Youth Employment Program for Teens
Employment Dates: End of June thru Mid-August


Students must attend all workshops to be considered for employment at the Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club Summer Program. Workshops were geared towards career and job search skills which included cover letter and resume writing as well as interviewing tips.

Program Requirements include: attendance at workshops, must qualify for free/reduced lunch or on public assistance, provide original working papers, copy of birth certificate, and provide a copy of social security card.

A total of five workshops will be offered in two sessions on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:00pm. Attitude, performance during each workshop, and attendance will be essential for employment.

Students will attend an orientation at the end of June once they undergo an interview by Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club professionals and are offered group leader position.
